Research interests

Karine HEUZE belongs to the group "Chimie Moléculaire et Matériaux" of the "Institut des Sciences Moléculaires" (University of Bordeaux - Institut des Sciences Moléculaires - ISM, UMR 5255 CNRS). Her team is developing research activities in the field of chemical modification of surfaces (oxide or polymer). Indeed, her expertise deals with the synthesis of specific coupling agents, including dendritic coupling agents designed for covalent grafting of biomolecules for sensors or immunosensors. As well, she has developed the functionalization of core-shell superparamagnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) for catalysis or biotechnology applications. In this field, she has been awarded in 2005 by the ANR (young researcher program) with a project dealing with the recovery of metallodendritic catalysts by their grafting onto magnetic nanoparticles. She has also been awarded by Region Aquitaine/CNRS in 2009 with a project on surface functionalization for biotechnology. Her Institute is equipped for organic chemistry and MNPs surface modification (thermomixer, sonicator, optical microscope) and we have fully access to equipment for MNPs surface characterization (IR, Zêtametry, TEM).
