Kinetics Database for Astrochemistry


Current interstellar chemical models need to be greatly improved to interpret new data arising from two powerful observational instruments : the Herschel Space Observatory (HSO) and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA). In collaboration with Valentine Wakelam from the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Bordeaux, we have initiated a working group for the identification of critical reactions in these models.


KIDA (KInetic Database for Astrochemistry)

As the update of existing databases for astrochemistry (UDFA, OSU, ...) was complex and inefficient, it has been decided to create a new database KIDA (KInetic Database for Astrochemistry). The project, led by Valentine Wakelam, will rationalise the work between chemists (experimentalists and theoreticians) and astrophysicists.
