I am in charge of managing optical microscopes, which comprise 4 epifluorescence microscopes (2 upright microscopes and 2 inverted), 1 confocal/epifluorescence microscope, 1 macroscope and 1 stereo microscope) and management of the cell culture room (apparatus and cell lines).
I am responsible for maintaining all this equipment / supplies and for providing training to non-permanent staff, including doctoral students, undergraduates and interns.
Furthermore, I design devices for the microscopic and spectroscopic characterization of samples in electrochemiluminescence (ECL) experiments, as well as for in situ and in operando fluorescence imaging of electrochemical interfaces.
I developed these apparatus in response to students' needs for their experiments, and have improved them over time through observation.
Our chambers are named 'a-Clipse' (Adaptive Chambers for Luminescence Imaging and Photo-/Spectro-Electrochemistry) and are available to purchase on the Idylle-labs website.
Currently, the 'a-Clipse' catalogue includes 19 types of chambers, without variations.

From 2000 till 2008, I worked on screening for mutations in the desmin and alphaB-crystallin genes in patients with Myofibrillar Myopathies (MFM) and molecular mechanisms involved in desminopathies.
I have identified 11 new mutations in the gene encoding desmin.
