Philippe was born in Rouen (Normandie Region) in 1982. He grew up in the same region and carried out his advanced studies within the University of Rouen where he graduated in December 2009 under the guidance of Dr. Xavier Franck (COBRA – UMR 6014 CNRS). He then moved to Singapore for a first post-doctoral experience in the group headed by Profs. David Y.-K. Chen and K. C. Nicolaou (ASTAR* - Chemical Synthesis Laboratory), before moving back to France in 2011 for a second post-doctoral appointment in the laboratory of Drs. Michael de Paolis and Jacques Maddaluno (COBRA - UMR 6014 CNRS). In 2013, he was finally granted a tenured CNRS research scientist position at the University of Bordeaux where he currently continues to develop his research interests, mainly focus on total synthesis of natural products using novel metal-free (asymmetric) synthetic methodologies.
