C2M in GPR Light program

Our research team strives to discover new molecular architectures and synthetic strategies for obtaining photoactive materials for the various electronic, optic or optoelectronic devices as detailed below (research axes). Our approaches combine multiscale approaches, including the feasibility of synthesis, the optoelectronic properties of compounds in solution, molecular arrangements within materials, optoelectronic properties in the solid state, material processing and characterization of the final devices.

Research axis 1: Solar Cells

In the past, new triphenodioxazine compounds have been designed and synthesized to produce dye-sensitized solar cells in our lab. Today, new π-conjugated structures are being developed to produce low-bandgap polymers for incorporation into organic heterojunction solar cells.

Research axis 2: LASERs

This topic is developed in the framework of the IDOL project funded by ANR. It involves developing new π-conjugated systems to promote charge transport and electroluminescence in organic solid-state lasers.

Research axis 3: Photoresponsive Self-Assembled Monolayers

This topic is developed in the framework of the PHONOM project funded by ANR. It involves designing Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs) based on photoresponsive NLO switches, targeting primarily systems for applications in optical communication or data storage.

Research axis 4: Chemical Modifications and Biofunctionalisations of Surfaces

In the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology, the control of surface properties constitute an important parameter for their development. We designed SAMs to immobilize biological species for biosensors and biological applications.

Research axis 5: Fluorescent and photosensitive molecular systems

New fluorescent or photosensitive organic molecules are being developed and their grafting onto various supports is implemented to provide molecular systems and hybrid materials for applications in detection or material sciences.
